The group is responsible for the operation and maintenance of Sheshan 25-m Radio Telescope and Tianma 65-m Radio Telescope, and participation in the international VLBI observing activities. There are many important observing sessions listed below:

l   Real time VLBI tracking sessions in the Chinese Lunar Exploration Project

l   EVN sessions

l   IVS sessions for astrometry and geodesy

l   Single-dish observations with Tianma 65-m Radio Telescope

l   Space VLBI experiments and EAVN experiments

The group is involved in developing techniques related to antenna control system, antenna calibration, cryogenic receivers, spectral line receiver and pulsar timing terminal, as well as carrying out applied research in VLBI and single-dish observations.
