Resume:

HU Xiaogong got the B.S. of Astronomy at Department of Astronomy, Nanjing University in 1991, and obtained his Ph.D. of Astronomy at Shanghai Astronomical Observatory (SHAO), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), in 1999. He then served as an assistant research scientist (1999-2001) at SHAO. He spent one year from 2001 to 2002 as a postdoctor at Center for Space Research (CSR), University of Texas at Austin. He served as an associate professor at SHAO from 2002 to 2005. He has served as a professor at SHAO since 2005. He is also the deputy director of Center for Astro-geodanamics at SHAO, and the chief scientist of research group “Precise Orbiting of Space Aircraft and Applications”. His research interests include Geodynamics and Orbital Mechanics as well as its applications. He participated as a key researcher in a “973” research project of the Chinese Ministry of Science (GPS data analysis on continental huge earthquakes’ mechanics and the prediction), and a key innovation project of the CAS (Application research of space geodetic observations). He participated in the Construction of Beidou Navigation System II as the PI who was in charge of the Information Processing Subsystem of the Main Control Station. He has also served as a main research scientist of several sub-projects of the series of Chinese “Chang E” lunar research mission. He was honored by “Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award” and “Science and Technology Progress Award of Chinese Military” because of his excellent achievement for these projects.
