Some new science is ONLY possible by accessing old data

Title: Some new science is ONLY possible by accessing old data
Time: 2012, August 27th (Monday), 9:00A.M.
Location: Small conference room (third floor)
Speaker: Elizabeth R. Griffin
(Dominion Astrophysical Observatory, Canada)

Griffin's resume
Dr. Griffin works on stellar atmospheres and composite stellar spectra.  She has several observing programmes at high-dispersion, using a CCD. However, her early work was photographic, so she became a defender of the need to incorporate that older form into modern research, and she is chair of the IAU working group on Preservation & Digitization Plate in Commission 5 (Documentation & Astronomical Data)
